Junk removal price by load size
These are the anchors the calculator interpolates between, for a truck of about 16 cubic yards. Each range is the average of two published price lists, rounded to the nearest $5.
| Load | Cubic yards | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| One item (about 1 cu yd) | 1 | $90 – $145 |
| 1/8 truck | 2 | $115 – $200 |
| 1/4 truck | 4 | $150 – $270 |
| 1/2 truck | 8 | $295 – $465 |
| 3/4 truck | 12 | $400 – $600 |
| Full truck | 16 | $565 – $825 |
Where the numbers come from
Nothing in the calculator is invented. Price anchors are the average of the published ranges of a Toledo hauler and a national company's published price table (a company blog, so its prices are promotional), and they sit inside the ranges of a second Toledo company. A real quote can fall outside the range. Prices were read on October 24, 2026.

Junk removal cost calculator FAQs
It gives a range, not a quote. The price anchors are averages of the published prices of a Toledo hauler and a national junk removal company, cross-checked against a second Toledo company, and the item volumes come from published volume guides. Real quotes move with access, stairs, what the material is and what the disposal site charges, so treat the result as a planning number. The free on-site or photo quote is the number that counts.
By volume: how much room your items take up in the truck. Most companies price by the quarter, half, three-quarter or full truck, and some price item by item. Weight only matters for dense material such as concrete, dirt or shingles, which is why those are a separate toggle in the calculator.
A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, a box 3 feet on every side. Published truck sizes range from about 12 to 18 cubic yards; the calculator assumes 16, the size of a truck bed 12 feet long, 6 feet wide and 6 feet tall, as one Toledo hauler publishes. If the crew's truck is smaller, a given pile is a bigger fraction of it.
Because the labor is higher, not the volume. One Toledo hauler publishes up to 25% more for stairs, a basement or a long carry, and a company blog puts it at $25–$75 per flight. The calculator adds the percentage to the high end of your range when you tick that box. See our basement cleanout guide.
Sometimes. One Toledo hauler publishes a $35 disposal fee for mattresses and $10–$25 for TVs, and a national company reports $20–$50 for refrigerant recovery at some companies. The calculator adds these to the high end only, because not every company charges them. Ask when you book.
The published prices the ranges come from describe a two-person crew, the truck and disposal. Hazardous materials, paint and chemicals are handled differently, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
Whole-house, estate, hoarding and multi-room cleanouts are quoted as a project after someone sees the space, so the calculator stops at three truckloads and shows no price. Send a few photos or ask for an on-site visit; both are free.
