Toledo’s curbside pickup won’t take them, and Michigan landfills can’t take whole tires. We pick up to 10 old tires per load from wherever they are stacked, on their own or along with the rest of your junk.

Sounds like your place?

Not sure whether this is the right service, or what it should cost? If any of these sound familiar, call us — we'll look at it, tell you straight what it takes, and quote one flat price for the whole job.

  • A set of old tires has been in the garage since the last car
  • The tire shop charged to take them, or you bought new ones elsewhere
  • You are clearing out a house, barn or rental and found a stack
  • Tires are sitting outside collecting water and mosquitoes
  • The free collection date has passed and you do not want to wait

Why we stop at 10 tires per load

Both states regulate scrap tire hauling. In Ohio, state law requires a registered transporter, with an exception for ten or fewer tires in a single load. It also says the person holding the tires can’t have them moved by an unregistered transporter unless an exception applies. In Michigan, anyone carrying more than ten at once must be a registered scrap tire hauler.

So if you have more than 10, tell us when you call and we will say upfront what we can do. If another hauler offers to take a big pile, ask to see their registration.

Where you can take old tires yourself

If you can load them yourself, these options cost less than a pickup. Fees and dates change, so confirm before you drive over.

Hoffman Road Landfill, Toledo$3 per car or truck tire, $10 per semi tireProof of City of Toledo or Lucas County residency. Tire dealers and commercial loads are not permitted.
Clean Toledo recycling events$0.50 per tireUp to 10, on or off the rim, on set dates only. The 2026 dates ended October 3, and the city’s Creekside recycling center does not take tires.
Monroe County tire collectionsFreeCounty residents only, up to 10 clean tires off the rim, no commercial tires. In 2026 they ran on the last Wednesday of April through July, at 1005 S. Raisinville Road. Call 734-240-7909 for next year’s dates.
A tire shopVariesMost retailers take old tires when you buy new ones. Ask first if you are not buying, and expect a fee.

Michigan bans whole tires from landfills, so a tire can’t just go out in a Monroe County trash load. Toledo’s curbside bulk pickup refuses them too, as our Toledo bulk trash guide explains. Before moving any tires, tip out the water: standing water in tires is how they breed mosquitoes, and Ohio’s rule for non-registered transporters requires it.

What tire removal costs

We quote tires as part of the load. A pickup that is only a few tires falls in our single-item range of $90–$200, and tires can carry an added disposal fee, so we will give you the flat number first. If you can drive them to the landfill yourself, four tires is about $12 at the rates above, and that is the cheaper route. Calling us makes sense when you have no truck, when they are buried in a basement or barn, or when they are part of a bigger cleanout. See the cost calculator for the rest of the load.

One crew, both sides of the state line

Monroe County, Michigan and Lucas County, Ohio are fifteen minutes apart and run on different disposal systems — different transfer stations, different tipping fees, different rules on appliances, tires and construction debris. That is why so many haulers work one side and turn the other down. We run both counties as a single service area and route each load to the facility that will actually take it, so a Temperance job and a Toledo job get the same price and the same truck.

How It Works

From the first call to an empty room

1

Call or Send Photos

Tell us what you have, or text a couple of photos. For straightforward loads we can quote from pictures; for cleanouts we come look. Either way it costs nothing.

2

Firm Price On Site

We walk the job with you, point at exactly what is going, and give you a flat price for the whole thing. If you say no, we leave and there is no charge.

3

We Load It Out

You point, we carry. Doorways and banisters get protected, and everything comes out of the room it is in — you should not have to move a thing to the curb first.

4

Swept Up and Sorted

We sweep the space before we pull out, then sort the load on our end: donations dropped, metal scrapped, electronics recycled, and only the rest to the transfer station.

Questions & Answers

Tire Removal — FAQs

Yes. We pick up to 10 passenger or light truck tires per load, from wherever they are stacked, on their own or with the rest of your junk. Tell us if they are still on the rims and we will include that in the quote.

Tell us the count when you call. Ohio and Michigan both require a registered scrap tire hauler for more than 10 tires in a load, so we will say upfront what we can do before anything is booked.

No. Tires are on the city’s not-collected list for curbside bulk pickup. Toledo residents can pay at Hoffman Road Landfill, which lists $3 per car or truck tire, or use a Clean Toledo recycling event when one is scheduled, which has been $0.50 per tire with a limit of 10.

Monroe County ran free collections on the last Wednesday of April through July in 2026, for county residents only, up to 10 clean tires off the rim. Call the county recycling coordinator at 734-240-7909 for next year’s dates.

Not whole. Michigan bans whole tires from landfills, so they have to go through a tire retailer, a collection event or a registered scrap tire site.

A pickup that is only a few tires falls in our single-item range of $90–$200, and tires can carry an added disposal fee. If they go on the same trip as other junk it costs less per tire. You get one flat price before we load anything.
